ABOUT ME

Hello there, my name is Martin DeWitt (Marty is fine), and I am an Environment Artist. I am currently, and have for the last 3 years, been employed with aboutGolf Ltd., located in southeastern Michigan. Before that I lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan where I got my Bachelor’s degree from Ferris State University. It was there that I worked on my first game, Northern Bend, a boat driving simulator, for the Grand Rapids Public Museum. It’s because of that game that I learned just how difficult it can be to make a game, but also the rewards that come from finishing it, especially when you can see the joy it brings to others.

While I do love making games, I also love to play them; and I’ve played all kinds of games on all kinds of consoles. But the ones I remember most fondly are easily: Luigi’s Mansion (Gamecube), Star Wars Rogue Squadron (N64), Command & Conquer (RA2 and Generals), World of Warcraft (at release), Guild Wars 2, and the Fallout series. Games aside, I also enjoy watching movies and TV shows, pretty much anything satirical or Sci-Fi related (especially Family Guy, Archer, and the Stargate series).

However, there are those days that my wife and I will just go out into the world and have an adventure. Be it camping, walking through a park, visiting a museum, or just checking out some new store we’ve never been to. I mean, where else am I going to find great reference art? I think I’ve covered the basics, so if you’d like to know more, or if you have any questions, feel free to send me an email. Have a good day!

Note: I am vaccinated for Covid-19 effective May 01, 2021.
